ASTRONAUT(A) follows Ana, a girl who dreams of becoming an astronaut and being the first woman to set foot on Mars. Starting from this desire, the production moves through questions related to science, gender expectations and the limits imposed on the choices of girls and boys.
Aimed at young and family audiences, the work brings together humour, live music and elements of fiction to also address family relationships, friendship, grief and female empowerment. The narrative is built through questions and conflicts that avoid closed answers, bringing the characters' everyday world close to the imagination sparked by space and scientific discovery.
ON THE STAGING
The staging of ASTRONAUT(A) is built on the contrast between the characters' everyday life and the universe imagined by Ana. School and home function as recognisable spaces, but are continuously crossed by play, music and visual elements that shift the action towards other possibilities of reality.
The work commits to a dynamic staging, with quick changes of situation, pronounced physical composition and a direct relationship with young and family audiences. Set design, costumes, lighting and live music all contribute to building this rhythm, allowing family and school situations to coexist with images linked to science, space exploration and imagination.
Comedy is used to bring to the stage conflicts related to gender expectations, the relationships between children and adults, and the characters' possibilities of choice. Rather than steering these questions towards closed answers, the staging seeks to keep them in motion, making curiosity and questioning central elements of the theatrical experience.
